Asus R510J performance review : Asus R510J 15.6-inch Laptop coming with Core i7 with HD display havingGB ram and 1TB hard disk including Windows 10 950M Graphics, in color of Glossy Black and white.Gaming laptops have always been a niche segment and are usually quite expensive, considering the components needed to run high-end games. too many options in gaming laptops in India, and many that exist have some pretty mediocre configurations at exorbitant prices. It’s a sizeable investment for what’s essentially a hobby (unless you’re a professional gamer) and that is why laptops like the MSI GE62 6QD that we recently reviewed, will mostly appeal to a small group of enthusiasts. The R510J does have some really good specs, but considering Asus classifies it as a gaming laptop, the Nvidia 950M GPU option seems a bit mediocre. But that said, there’s still a lot going for it, as we figured out during the review process.

R510J has a spiffy design comprised of red geometric lines fading in and out of the black background. R510J is virtually identical to the Asus R.O.G GL552, which launched last June, in terms of specifications and pricing, however the latter is now replaced by a slightly different SKU at a higher price. The top shell has a piano finish though, which is very easy to scratch scar and fingerprint, so you may want to cover or skin it as soon as you get it out of the box. Inside, however,Let’s see if the R510J is up to the task of being a budget gaming laptop. ASUS has given you a textured, matte-finished material, that’s a lot less prone to minor visual damage.

R510J may not be the perfect gaming laptop. But Asus has managed to get the price vs performance balance right. The laptop has really impressive hardware and performance wise leaves little to grudge about.Despite the decently powerful components, Windows and app performance can get a bit sluggish and we feel the slower hard drive and the lack of an SSD is to blame. It takes about a minute from the time you hit the power button when the desktop is actually usable. Application loading times can be slow as well depending on how heavy they are. You get Windows 10 out of the box as well. The drawbacks include average battery life, lack of backlit keyboard and some bloatware bundled in. However, if you can live with these shortcomings, the R510J offers great value for money.
